The Executive Board

These are the 2020 – 2021 Executive Board Members.  We’re here to help make this year a successful one at Cardinal Ridge Elementary.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Katrina Purnell

I am  excited to serve as your Cardinal Ridge PTO President. I am also the proud mother and number one supporter of the best 1st Grader I know: Kannon Purnell. I began my journey with Cardinal Ridge PTO as Secretary in the Fall of 2019. I joined the PTO to stay connected and service both the school and my community. I am looking forward to our Parent/Teacher partnership and building upon the Cardinal Ridge legacy.

Mirjam Kothari
Vice President

I have two boys and a third boy on the way. Neal, my oldest, is 6 years old and a rising 1st grader. Nicholas, my 2 year old, is at home with me.  I have been on the PTO Board since February 2020. I am very excited to serve this year as Vice President.

Amy Pernick

I am so excited to be joining the Cardinal Ridge Elementary School PTO Board this year as the VP Communications. I have one son, Matthew, who will be in Kindergarten this year, and he is really looking forward to being a Red Wing! I look forward to being able to play a more active role in planning fun community events for scholars and their families and supporting the faculty and staff at CRES.

RoseMarie Lee

This is my second year at Cardinal Ridge Elementary School. I am a teacher at CRE and live in Leesburg with my family. I have three children, (6th grade, 9th grade and 11th grade). I am very excited to serve on the PTO this year and help support the school Icall my second home. Teaching is not just a job to me, it’s a passion of mine. I have been an active part of my children’s PTA’s and PTO’s for 12 years and I look forward to using my experience to help the PTO create a fun, nurturing environment and sense of community for students and families of Cardinal Ridge Elementary!

Jacqueline Materna

I am so excited to serve as the PTO Secretary for this school year! This will be my third year of teaching in Loudoun County and my third year teaching fifth grade here at Cardinal Ridge! I love the community that Cardinal Ridge has built and how all strive to make each year better than the previous. My goal for this school year is to have us, as a school, continue to grow in our culture and community while also introducing new ideas that are both welcoming and representative for all students and families. I’m beyond thrilled for the opportunity and cannot wait to see how much we can do together this year!
