The Executive Board

These are the 2021 – 2022 Executive Board Members.  We’re here to help make this year a successful one at Cardinal Ridge Elementary.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Katrina Purnell
President

I am  excited to serve as your Cardinal Ridge PTO President. I am also the proud mother and number one supporter of the best 2nd Grader I know: Kannon Purnell. I began my journey with Cardinal Ridge PTO as Secretary in the Fall of 2019. I joined the PTO to stay connected and service both the school and my community. I am looking forward to our Parent/Teacher partnership and building upon the Cardinal Ridge legacy.

Mirjam Kothari
Vice President

I have three boys. Neal, my oldest, is 7 years old and a rising 2nd grader. Nicholas, my 3 year old, is at home with me with my now 1 year old, Nathan. I have been on the PTO Board since February 2020. I am very excited to serve this year as Vice President.

Ashley Blankenship
Communications

I am excited to be joining the PTO this school year. This will be my 3rd year at Cardinal Ridge. I taught 5th grade for two years and I am excited to be transitioning to 3rd grade this year.

RoseMarie Lee
Treasurer

This is my third year at Cardinal Ridge Elementary School. I am a teacher at CRE and live in Leesburg with my family. I have three children, (7th grade, 10th grade and 12th grade). I am very excited to serve another year on the PTO this year and help support the school I call my second home. Teaching is not just a job to me, it’s a passion of mine. I have been an active part of my children’s PTA’s and PTO’s for 12 years and I look forward to using my experience to help the PTO create a fun, nurturing environment and sense of community for students and families of Cardinal Ridge Elementary!

Jacqueline Materna
Secretary

I am so excited to serve as the PTO Secretary for this school year! This will be my fourth year of teaching in Loudoun County and my fourth year teaching fifth grade here at Cardinal Ridge! I love the community that Cardinal Ridge has built and how all strive to make each year better than the previous. My goal for this school year is to have us, as a school, continue to grow in our culture and community while also introducing new ideas that are both welcoming and representative for all students and families. I’m beyond thrilled for the opportunity and cannot wait to see how much we can do together this year!
